How To Clean Leather Car Seats

Leather seats look and feel much more luxurious than cloth, adding comfort and upscale style to your Milton area commute. Caring for leather seats vs. cloth seats is a bit more involved, but it's worth it to keep them protected and in like-new condition. Check out these helpful leather car seat cleaning tips from Hennessy Porsche North Atlanta.

Parts Center

How Do You Keep Leather Seats in Good Condition?

  • Vacuum Your Seats: Vacuum the seams and crevices of your seats to remove any dust, dirt, or debris.
  • Clean Your Seats: It's recommended that you use a pH-neutral cleaning solution with a microfiber cloth and soft-bristled brush to gently clean the leather upholstery. Be careful not to get any of the liquid cleaning solution into perforated seats.
  • Condition Your Seats: Using a clean microfiber cloth, gently rub a leather conditioner into the seats.
  • Protect the Leather: It's best to keep your vehicle parked under a tree or in a garage. Prolonged exposure to sunlight in the Smyrna area can damage leather upholstery.

What Cleaning Products Should Be Used?

We recommend using a damp, colorless rag to periodically dust off your leather car seats. To clean them more thoroughly, use warm water and a small amount of soap or leather cleaner. Your owner's manual should have leather care recommendations, or you can contact our parts department and ask for the best leather conditioners for Porsche seats.

Some things you should avoid when cleaning your leather seats include:

  • Sharp objects that may scratch
  • Household cleaner
  • Dark cloths
  • Detergents
  • Furniture polish
